FM16: “The Academics” – part XXXIII – Summary of 2031/2032

Hello everyone, welcome to the last season summary of my FM16 save with Akademisk Boldklub. It last more than one month to write something new as I had a holiday and a lot of work after it.

Season 2031/2032 was my last season with this lovely club in Football Manager 2016 as I decided to finish this great save after the tenth league title in a row. But this is not last post about this save as I will write one or two more before FM17 will be released.

If you’re not up to date with this save check this post about summer transfers and other stuff from August.

Champions League 2031/2032

We were drawn into the Group B with Olympique Marseille, VfL Wolfsburg and Olympiakos. We beat Olympiakos twice (1-0 at home & 2-0 away), drew twice with Wolfsburg (1-1 away & 0-0 at home) and we lost 2-4 away to Marseille and drew with the French side 1-1 at home.

That meant we finished second in the Group stage and we were through to the 1st Knockout Round. The draw was cruel and we got Real Madrid. We lost 1-3 at home and 1-2 away and we were knocked out from this competition.

DBU Pokalen 2031/2032

What about domestic cup? We conceded just only two goals in six games and we have won this competition for a sixth times in a row. We beat Ringkobing IF 4-0 thanks to four goals by striker Alexander Schmidt.

We also beat Allerod, Aarhus, Viborg and FC Midtjylland in the Final in which Henrik Michaelsen scored brace. We have won this competition 11th times during this save.

Superliga 2031/2032

After two seasons without loss of point we have won the league 25 points ahead of Brondby IF and 44 points ahead of Midtjylland. FC Kobenhavn finished this season fifth with almost 50 points behind us.

We have won 31 matches from 36 and lost any. We scored 64 goals and conceded only 10. Henrik Michaelsen scored 16 league goals and was voted six times as a player of the match. Midfieler Neil Paterson was just about one player of the match award better.

It was our tenth league title in a row and I decided it will be the best to finish there…

Winter Transfers 2031/2032

The last transfer window of this save was very hard for us as we had to sell some players who I wanted to keep but they all wanted to go. And there was also one record transfer fee received.

We sold goalkepper Mads Jessen for 35M to PSG. We were unable to reject this offer. Another major departures were Smicht to Barcelona, Morgensen and Holm to Salzburg, Jessen to Napoli, Mitrovic to Benfica and Andersen to Real Madrid.

We only bought two young strikers Daniel Pettersson and Christian Morgensen from Hammarby and Aalborg respectively. Morgensen scored four goals in three friendlies but he had some injury probles during second part of the season so he not played too much.

And that’s all. The last season summary is over. I will published another post about this save in next days or weeks.
