FM16: “The Academics” – part XXXI – 36 green dots

This is the final part of the 2030/2031 season with Akademisk. In previous articles you could read about transfers, squad, key players or another European Golden Boy Award as well. Another season with AB is over and same as last season we’ve won all 36 league matches.

This year we were knocked out from Champions League in the Quarter Final by Real Madrid but we won domestic cup again so national dominance continue…

DBU Pokalen 2030/2031

Let’s start with the least prestigious competition – domestic cup. The most interesting incident happened in the third round when we beat Vestsjaelland after penalties and our goalkeeper scored the winner. I wrote about it in recent weeks…

We then beat Hobro, Odense and Midtjylland in the Semi Final 3-0 at home and 1-0 away from home. The Final was very boring match with only one goal and thankfully it we scored the one thanks to Lars Sorensen and I think Viborg players were very happy that Final match was decided by this…

It was our 10th domestic cup trophy in last 11 seasons and fifth in a row. It’s 11th cup trophy in club history as AB won it in 1998/1999 too.

Champions League 2030/2031

As I wrote in the previous part we were through to the 1st Knockout Round of Champions League as we were better than Leverkusen and Olympiakos. We finished second in the group two points behind Marseille.

We played with Borussia Dortmund in the 1st Knockout Round with first match at home. We won 2-0 thanks to goals by Sorensen and Michelsen and it was good position before the second leg.

We were not the better side in Signal Iduna Park but we were very very effective. We scored two goals from two shots on target and BVB scored only one from 12 shots on target so we were through to the Quarter Final.

It would be pointless to write something more than we lost twice 2-0 to Real Madrid. They were unplayable and we had no chance to beat them. We were lucky to lost only 2-0, it could be two digits score…

Liverpool beat Manchester City in the Final 3-2. City were in their sixth Final in a row (won twice), Liverpool won it twice in last four years.

Superliga 2030/2031

The best for the end. Last year we won all league matches. We did the same in the first half of the season and we secured Championship Group place just after 14 matches. I wanted to win all matches once again. So we did it…

We started the second part of the season against Brondby and there were three matches in a row with only 1-0 win. We scored not so many goals this spring but we conceded not many as well. And that was important.

We beat all opponents and secured another league title many games before the end of the season. It's our ninth league title in a row...

I tried to play with many youngsters during the last matches and they played very good but it’s probably not enough for Champions League glory. It would be fantastic to win the Champions League with the club but it’s not so important as I still want to play mainly with youngsters and I want to watch their development

e99372f9893e12263e4057c23ad30e19Same as last year we secured 108 points thanks to 36 league wins. We scored 73 goals and conceded only 6. We conceded three goals in each two parts of the season what is absolutely fantastic performance.

Goalkeeper Mads Jessen kept 22 clean sheets in 26 apperances. William Thorhauge played 10 league matches and he had 8 clean sheets. We conceded 0 goals from Corners and Free Kicks too.

We’re now 95 matches without losing and 74 games won in a row in the Superliga. Our average attendance this season was 18312 with 19212 capacity.

Some stats from the 2030/2031 season...

Superliga_ Overview Profile

Player Stats 2030/2031

Strikers Henrik Michaelsen and Anders Toxvaerd scored 16 goals both in all competitions. Toxvaerd scored 10 in league, 3 in Champions League and 3 in domestic cup. Michaelsen scored 14 in league and 2 in Champions League.

Kim Hansen had most assists (7) from all players what is interesting because he is rotation player. But if you look at squad screen you can see that there are many players with six or five assists so we can say that the whole team was involved equally.

Midfielder Martin Hansen had the best average rating of 7.74, Michael Madsen had the best pass completion of 85% and Nichals Meyer was vote eight times as man of the match.

We finished this season with overall balance around £89M…
