FM15: Spartans FC Update – 2033/2034: Six trophies in the last chapter of the fairytale!

The last season with Spartans FC finished. The season 2033/2034 was my last season within Football Manager 2015 long term career. And it was the most succesful season of all. My Spartans FC team have won six trophies included European Super Cup or Champions League for the second time in a row.

Transfers 2033/2034

We spent 16M£ during this season on new players. We bought right winger Juan Pedro from Juventus, central defender Andra Romanelli from AC Milan after eight seasons on loan with us. We bought young midfielder Gordon Parratt from Inverness CT and very good US striker Jason Cook from New York Red Bulls.

There were some transfers outside the club. Very much of them were free transfers or on loan but Kenny Conway left club for 5,5M£ to Cesena and central defender Manuel Holzinger had to go to Inter because they activated his transfer clausule.

Scottish Premier League

Another season without defeat. It would be sad if we lose in my last season with the club. We won 31 matches and seven games ended with a draw. We scored 97 goals and conceded 24. We gained equal hundred points.

David Dalziel had 16 assists, goalkeeper Sam Hammond 16 clean sheets and Jason Cook scored 22 league goals. He became the best rated player in the league with averate rating 7,43. It was mainly thanks to a great second part of this season.

It was our 11th Premier League title in a row. Great way to end this save. We finished this save with 335 matches without defeat in a row in Scottish Premier League!

European Super Cup

After last year’s defeat from Chelsea we finaly won this competition. We played against Schalke 04 and it was very even match, both clubs had same amount of shots but we were more effective. Armando Gagliardi scored hattrick and Valentino Lazzaroni scored once. Wojciech Lenkiewicz and Tobias Schmidt scored for Schalke.

Club World Championship

It was for the first time we played this competition. We played against New York Red Bulls in the Semi Final and we won 2-1 thanks to a goals by Armando Gagliardi and Graham Paterson.

The Final match was much more dramatical against Cruzeiro. We were 1-0 and 2-1 up but they equalised five minutes before the end of the 90 minutes. We were much better in the extra-time and scored another three goals. Substitute Garry Mulgrew scored twice. And we won another competition.

Champions League

We won this prestigious competition for the first time last year. I have no ambition to retain title because teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid or Sporting Lisboa are stronger than our squad. We have Sporting, Maccabi Haifa and Shakhtar in the Group Stage. We lost both games against Sporting but beat Haifa and Shakhtar in both matches and we were through to the knockout stage.

There we had Galatasaray in the 1st Knockout stage and beat them after 2-1 win and 3-3 draw away. We beat Barcelona in the Quarter Final in both legs, that was very enjoyable moment. We met Sporting in the Semi Final again and I was very sceptical of our chances. But we won 3-0 at home and were through to the Final despite 2-4 defeat in the second leg.

UCL win joy

We played against Real Madrid in the Final, same as last year. We were 1-0 up, Real Madrid turned score thanks to goals by Erkan Eren but we leveled by Martin McKenzie. And we were luckier team in penalties. All players scored but Sánchez missed so we won the Champions League for the second time in a row!
