FM15: Spartans FC Update – 2025/2026 Summer Transfers & changes

When the 2025/2026 pre-season started I received two great news – Spartans board announced that the club will build a new stadium with a capacity of 20,438. The second good news is that club is able to upgrade Youth Facilities and this project will be financed without any external funding.

The new “Spartans Stadium” will cost around £35,5M, although this figure will be offset by the £825K the club will receive by selling Ainslie Park. The Board have secured a loan of £34,87M to help finance the stadium project. Additional funding for the project has been secured with a stadium sponsorship deal worth £17,85M. The new stadium will be be finished in June 2027.

European club rankings & European coefficients table

Thanks to a participation in Champions League Group Stage and Europa League Semi Final, Spartans FC have moved up 168 places to 52nd position in the new European club rankings. Chelsea FC have been ranked the top team in Europe for next season.

Scotland have moved up 3 places to 12th position in the European nation coefficients. League champions will now qualify directly for the UCL group stage thanks to it.

“IN & OUT”

We really needed to strenght our squad before this season. Many young and unwanted players left the club. Our Under 21 squad is horrible but that’s result of bad Youth Intakes.

Big loss for us was the departure of the best defender – Paddy Coll went to West Ham United for €3M. Young and talented Graeme Jack went to Derby County for €2M and experienced midfielder Liam Polworth has a permission to leave club because he had high wage. And finally, we have also lost strike Shaun May who scored fifteen goals last season but he didn’t want to extend contract.

And what about new faces in our squad? We bought central midfielder Gary Scullion from Rangers for a fee £2M and central defender Tomas Malina from Sparta Prague for a fee £3,5M. We brought to the club some young players as well – wing back Paul Begg, attacker Ryan Craig, midfielder Alastair Dalglish and central midfielder Josh Dobbie. The last two from relegated Partick Thistle for a free.

There were three Loan signings as well. We brought two players from AC Milan (our Senior Affiliate) for the first time during mutual cooperation. Right defender Davide Salvi and forvard Valentino Lazzaroni. And finally, the third loan signing is 20-years-old midfielder Eoin Dunne from Brighton who plays for Irish U21 national team. Squad_ Players Players

Is it enough? I believe so, yes. But one of my best players think the opposite. Striker Brian McShane is disappointed with the quality of the team and expressed his disappointment via social networks and media. He asked for permission to leave club, one day after transfer window closed because there is no competition for places.

Another seven players think he is right about the lack of squad depth. The situation partly calmed down after the team meeting. We had a few less players in past seasons. I do not understand why some players still have something to complain… :]
